Sintered Metal Parts — Custom Press-and-Sinter Manufacturing

What are sintered metal parts?

Sintered metal parts are components made by compressing metal powder in a die under high pressure, then heating it below the melting point so the particles bond into a solid, near-net-shape part. The press-and-sinter process delivers strong, dimensionally stable parts — gears, structural components, bearings and more — at a lower cost per piece than machining, with self-lubricating options available.

We are the factory, not a middleman: powder blending, pressing, sintering, finishing and Zeiss inspection all run inside our own 30,000+ m² facilities. Send a drawing and get a DFM review plus quotation within 48 hours.

What We Make

Custom sintered parts, by material & application

Five product families cover the majority of press-and-sinter demand. If your part is not on the list, send the drawing anyway — as a custom sintered parts manufacturer we quote against geometry, not catalogue lines.

Product family 01

Sintered Iron Parts

Structural components, lock components, housings and mounting parts in iron and low-alloy steel — load-bearing parts that need strength at competitive cost.

Product family 02

Sintered Steel Gears

Spur, helical, bevel, worm and timing gears from powder compaction — near-net gear teeth mean no chip removal and no material waste.

Sintered Stainless Parts

Corrosion-resistant components in stainless steel 304L, 316L and 430 — for industrial, automotive and end-user-facing parts that must stay clean.

Sintered Bronze Bearings

Oil-impregnated, self-lubricating bearing bushings and flanged bearings — the classic press-and-sinter application for friction-free assemblies.

How It Works

The press-and-sinter process, in five steps

A compressed version of the full powder metallurgy route — enough to understand cost drivers, tolerances and lead time.

Powder blending

Alloy powder, lubricant and additives are blended to the target composition for your material spec.

Compaction

Powder is pressed in a die under high pressure on one of 19 PM presses into a raw “green” part.

Sintering

Green parts are heated in 10 controlled-atmosphere furnaces so particles bond into solid metal.

Sizing / CNC

Optional sizing or CNC finishing tightens critical dimensions down to ±0.025 mm.

Inspection & ship

Zeiss CMM, density testing and batch traceability through MES — PPAP/FAI documentation on request.

FAQ

Sintered metal parts — questions buyers ask

What are sintered metal parts?
Sintered metal parts are components made by compacting metal powder in a die and heating it below the melting point to bond the particles into a solid, near-net-shape part. The press-and-sinter process suits medium-to-high volume production of gears, structural components, bearings and other small precision parts at lower cost per piece than machining, with self-lubricating options available.
How does press-and-sinter manufacturing work?
Powder is blended to the target alloy, compacted in a hydraulic press at high pressure, then sintered in a furnace under a controlled atmosphere. Parts can then be sized or CNC-finished to tighten tolerances, followed by inspection on Zeiss CMM equipment before shipping.
What materials can you sinter?
We produce sintered parts in iron, carbon steel, stainless steel (304L, 316L, 430), plus project-specific bronze alloys. Material selection is confirmed against your application during the DFM review — including whether a sintered route beats machining on cost per part.
What tolerances can you hold on sintered parts?
Standard tolerances hold key dimensions to ±0.05 mm; after sizing or CNC finishing we can reach ±0.025 mm depending on geometry. We confirm achievable tolerances and draft angles in the free DFM review, before you commit to tooling.
What is the MOQ for sintered metal parts?
Our standard MOQ is 2,000 pieces. For prototypes and new-product launches we can run smaller pilot batches — pricing and lead time are confirmed in your quotation.
How fast is tooling and first article delivery?
Tooling is completed in about 30 days, and first articles typically ship within 25 days after tooling approval. Quotes and DFM feedback are returned within 48 hours of receiving your drawings.
Are you a sintered parts manufacturer or a trader?
We are an in-house manufacturer: powder blending, compaction, sintering, finishing and inspection all run inside our own 30,000+ m² facilities in China. IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified, with MES batch traceability — no middleman in the chain.
Do you provide PPAP and quality documentation?
Yes. As an IATF 16949-certified plant we support PPAP, FAI reports, material certificates and batch traceability. For EU shipments we also support PPWR packaging compliance documentation.
