Engineered PM & Sintered Parts for Modern Home Appliances
We supply precision powder metallurgy solutions to leading home appliance brands and motor manufacturers worldwide. From high-wear-resistance transmission gears and self-lubricating oil-impregnated bearings to high-pressure structural parts, our in-house factory manages the full closed-loop process: powder blending, compaction, sintering, sizing, and inspection, delivering low-noise, high-strength components at scale with exceptional cost efficiency.
Sintered Mixer & Blender Components
Kitchen small appliances demand extreme wear resistance, food-grade corrosion protection, and minimal operating noise from micro-drive components. PM delivers on all three.
High-torque planetary gears, coupling sleeves, and variable-speed eccentric wheels designed for stand mixers and planetary mixers. Uniform density distribution ensures excellent impact fatigue resistance under intermittent heavy loads. Typical density: 6.8 to 7.2 g/cm³ after sintering.
Blade-shaft bushings, toothed couplings, and drive gears for high-speed blenders and food processors. Engineered for superior dynamic balance and long-term wear resistance at RPMs exceeding 20,000. Oil-impregnated variants eliminate the need for food-contaminating external lubricants.
Sintered Washing Machine Components
Washing machines and dryers operate under constant moisture, alternating loads, and vibration. Powder metallurgy provides an ideal solution combining high corrosion resistance with complex geometry capability that would be prohibitively expensive to machine.
Clutch ratchets and paws, gearbox reduction gears, pulley flanges, and water valve actuators. Custom alloy formulations (Fe-Cu-C + optional Ni) with steam bluing and rust-proof oil impregnation significantly extend moisture and wear life. Post-sintering sizing holds critical tooth profiles to ±0.02 mm, ensuring quiet gear mesh engagement over 10,000+ wash cycles.
Sintered Compressor Components
The core power source of refrigerators, dehumidifiers, and residential HVAC demands industrial-grade gas sealing and tolerance control. Sintered parts meet these requirements with the cost advantage of near-net-shape production.
Rotary and scroll compressor cylinder end caps, pistons, eccentric shaft bearings, and locating sleeves. High-density alloy sintering (7.2 to 7.6 g/cm³) delivers superior densification and cavitation resistance, with precise geometric tolerances that reduce gas leakage and energy consumption. Surface hardening via steam treatment extends wear life in continuous-duty applications.
Sintered Fan Motor Parts
Modern air purifiers, floor fans, and range hoods demand near-silent operation with extended maintenance-free intervals. PM self-lubricating bearings are the industry standard for achieving both goals simultaneously.
Iron-base and copper-base porous oil-impregnated bearings (self-lubricating bearing shells), motor end caps, and rotor/stator pole pieces custom-designed for brushless and AC fan motors. Oil retention rates of 18 to 27% by volume and friction coefficients as low as 0.008 to 0.02, eliminating wind noise and mechanical noise at source. Operating temperature range: -40°C to +120°C for standard grades.
Five Steps from Powder to Precision Part
Powder Blending
Carefully selected iron powder, copper powder, and polymer lubricant additives, precisely formulated for lightweight, high-strength, or low-noise appliance requirements. Each blend is verified for chemistry, particle size distribution, and apparent density per MPIF standards before release to compaction.
Precision Compaction
Automated multi-station powder compacting presses (up to 200 tons) produce near-net-shape green compacts with complex geometries including multi-level steps, splines, and tooth profiles. Compaction pressure and green density are monitored at 100% frequency to prevent cracking and ensure uniform density.
Controlled Sintering
Mesh-belt continuous sintering furnaces with strictly controlled temperature profiles (1,120 to 1,180°C for ferrous grades) and protective atmosphere (N₂/H₂ dissociated ammonia) enable atomic diffusion for a high-density metal matrix. Sintering time, temperature, and atmosphere composition are recorded per lot for full traceability.
Sizing & Secondary Ops
Coining (re-pressing) tightens dimensional tolerance to ±0.015 mm on critical features. Secondary operations include CNC machining for tight-tolerance bores, vacuum oil impregnation for self-lubrication, and surface treatments (steam bluing, plating, black oxide) for corrosion protection. All operations are documented in the MES system.
Quality Inspection
Zeiss CMM dimensional verification, densitometer readings, metallographic hardness testing (HRA/HV), and gear mesh noise measurement ensure zero-defect delivery per batch. Inspection data is archived by lot number and available to buyers upon request. JH PM operates under IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
Four Reasons Appliance Manufacturers Trust Our PM Parts
Mass Production at Scale
Compared to traditional machining or forging, PM near-net-shape forming dramatically reduces material waste (up to 95% material utilization) and machining time. The result: 20 to 30% lower per-unit cost at appliance-scale volumes of 500K+ pieces per year.
Self-Lubricating Performance
Porous oil-impregnated bearings and precision-sintered gear meshes run smoothly without external lubrication, directly addressing the noise sensitivity that end consumers care about most. Typical noise reduction: 3 to 8 dB vs. machined alternatives.
48-Hour DFM & Rapid Tooling
Submit your 3D drawings (STEP/IGS) and receive a process feasibility assessment and cost quotation from senior tooling and metallurgy engineers within 48 hours. Mold fabrication lead time: approximately 20 days. Sample delivery: approximately 25 days from mold completion.
Certified Quality System
IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certified, with MES lot-level traceability from powder batch through sintering to finished shipment. Every part can be traced back to its raw material certification, compaction parameters, and sintering profile.
