A 7,000 sqm powder metallurgy facility in Shaoxing
JH PM is the powder metallurgy brand of JHCH Electronic Tech., established in 2013. Tooling, compaction, sintering, secondary CNC, and inspection run under one roof — no subcontracting on the critical path.

Customized powder metallurgy (PM) solutions for OEMs and engineering partners.
Is powder metallurgy cheaper than CNC machining for mass production?
Yes. PM compacts the net shape in one pass, reducing cost per part by 20–30% compared to batch machining of the same geometry. Once the mold is amortized, material waste drops to near zero and secondary operations are minimized. JH PM ships over 3,000 tons of PM parts per year, and once a project clears the mold, the economics per part strongly favor PM. The trade-off is the upfront tooling cost, which can be recouped on the first production run of any high-volume project.
Category 1: Technical capabilities and materials
Q1: What materials can you process and what secondary processing do you provide?
We specialize in a wide range of sintered materials designed for demanding industrial applications, including:
- Iron-based PM — structural and mechanical parts where strength and cost-per-part matter most.
- Stainless steel PM — corrosion-resistant components, vacuum sintered for full density and clean microstructure.
- Copper-based PM — self-lubricating bushings and conductive components.
To provide fully finished, ready-to-assemble components, we offer comprehensive secondary processing:
- CNC machining — turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and reaming for tight-tolerance features.
- Sizing & coining — for tighter tolerances and surface finish.
- Steam treatment & vacuum sintering — surface hardening and full-density stainless, in-house.
Q2: What are your achievable tolerances, dimensional limits and design support capabilities?
Tolerances: ±0.05 mm on critical dimensions, verified on a Zeiss CMM.
Press capacities and dimensions: we use automatic compaction presses from 6T to 1,000T to manufacture parts weighing from 0.5 grams to 3.0 kilograms with projected surface areas up to 150 square centimeters.
DFM engineering support: our engineering team works directly with your R&D department early in the design phase to perform DFM analysis to help optimize geometry, reduce material waste, and consolidate multi-piece assemblies into a single PM part.
Category 2: Quality assurance and compliance
Q3: What quality management certifications and inspection procedures do you have?
Quality runs through every stage of our operations. We strictly abide by the international quality management system:
- Certifications: ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified.
- Inspection bench: Zeiss CMM, gear profile tester, profilometer, 2.5D detector, hardness tester, and compression tester.
- Documentation: dimensional reports and material certificates are archived per shipment. PPAP documentation is available for automotive programs.
Q4: Do you provide material certificates and lot traceability?
Yes. Every shipment is traceable to press, sintering charge, and raw-material batch. Material certificates and dimensional inspection reports are packed with the parts — not checked and discarded.
Category 3: Project timeline, tools, and prototyping
Q5: What is the typical lead time for molds, prototypes and mass production?
We adhere to a strict project timeline to meet your launch timeline:
- Tooling: about 20 days. Samples: about 25 days. Both include design, fabrication, sample pressing, sintering, and initial PPAP submission.
- Mass production: 4–6 weeks after sample approval, depending on secondary operations and batch size.
- Rush track: rapid tooling options and rush production slots are available for time-critical projects.
Q6: Can you provide prototypes before we put into mass production of molds?
Absolutely. To facilitate functional evaluation, fit testing and design validation prior to investment in hard tooling, we offer flexible prototyping options:
- Precision CNC machining using powder metallurgy preformed blocks (accurately matched to the density and properties of the sintered material).
In order to keep the sample consistent with the mass-produced product, it is still recommended to open the mold to verify the sample.
Category 4: Commercial terms, IP protection and logistics
Q7: How do you protect our intellectual property (IP) and proprietary tools?
NDA: we take intellectual property protection extremely seriously. Before receiving CAD data, we typically enter into a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in a recognized international jurisdiction.
Tool ownership: tools paid for by the customer are 100% owned by you. We provide lifetime tool maintenance and secure storage free of charge for the life of your part.
Q8: What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ) and pricing structure?
Due to the press setup and tool calibration requirements inherent to powder metallurgy, our typical minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 2,000 units per production run. However, we have the flexibility to support the initial commissioning and start-up phases. Our unit pricing is fully transparent, broken down by raw material, compaction, sintering, secondary processing and packaging.
Q9: What shipping terms (Incoterms) and payment methods do you support?
Incoterms: FOB (main ports in China) and CIF.
Logistics network: long-term partnerships with ocean freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, and international express carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS).
Payment terms: mold: 50% deposit / 50% after sample approval. Mass production: T/T, with net 30 days available for established partners after credit assessment.
Q10: Why choose us instead of North American or European suppliers?
Cost optimization:
- Product cost — leverage China’s integrated manufacturing ecosystem and efficient mold manufacturing to achieve 20–30% total cost savings without sacrificing material integrity or precision.
- Time cost — faster tooling and sample turnaround than typical Western lead times.
Agile engineering support: a dedicated bilingual engineering team provides 24/7 technical communication and DFM feedback within 48 hours.
Scalable production capacity: high production flexibility, able to adapt to sudden demand surges and long-term production expansion.
